In School Support

Setting or school environment mentoring Interventions.

From 2025 onwards, we will provide protected time and space within the school. Mentoring within schools can also be provided to children and young people individually and as part of a more comprehensive child or young person-focused individualized relevant plan.

These spaces can contain support to help young people build trust, emotional resilience, and social confidence. These spaces are helpful for children or young people joining a small group. These sessions will focus on building interpersonal skills and encouraging communication, compassion, awareness, and consideration for self and others. Our mentors develop young person-focused sessions promoting social and emotional development through individualized plans and group-relevant teamwork approaches. Mentoring within schools can also be provided to children and young people individually and as part of a more comprehensive child or young person-focused individualized relevant plan.

Setting or school environment Group emotional well-being service

From 2025, Aspire and Thrive will offer a therapeutic group program providing coping strategies and emotional regulation skills to equip children and young people when they experience anxiety, low mood, or negative thinking. Our course helps children and young people recognize changes in their emotional health and become aware of physical and emotional changes, including how to respond to and better understand their sense of themselves, their world, and their emotions. We intend that children and young people have emerging preparedness and are enabled to develop healthier or more personally helpful responses, reduce what might be considered more complex, and mitigate a sense of overwhelm or feeling less able to cope in given circumstances. Our clinicians, trained in group-based regulation skills, offer an eight- to ten-week program within schools as an early emotional regulation intervention to increase resilience and navigate distress tolerance. There is also the opportunity for this support to be delivered within a contained and protected one-to-one space, as group environments may not be suitable or accessible for some children and young people.
